Here are five essential questions to ask when choosing the right matchmaker:

1. 1.How many years has the Matchmaker that I will be working with been matchmaking?
2. 2.What is the Matchmaker’s success rate?
3.     More specifically, how many couples has this Matchmaker been responsible for successfully matching?
4. 3.How many clients does the company require the Matchmaker to have each month?
5.     If this answer is over 5, this means they work on a quota system and view clients and matches with an assembly line approach. You will likely not be prioritized.
6. 4.How does the Matchmaker find your matches?
7.     If they start rattling off how many singles are in their database, RUN. This means they give preferential treatment to people in their database and do little to NO searching for your match outside of their database, which means your options are limited. Keep in mind whatever number they give you of eligible singles in their database has no significance to you because that number encompasses all the singles across the entire country ranging from 21–75 years old. That number will always be false because people move, partner up, and also may not fit your physical and life goals criteria. The matchmaking service would have to reach out to all the people they claim to have ready for you to date to determine who is a fit for you and what their current status is. They have no idea how many eligible singles are actually available and a fit for YOU.
8. 5.Can I meet the Matchmaker you’ll be pairing me with before I commit?
9.     Word to the wise: do not purchase your matchmaking package without FIRST meeting the Matchmaker you will be paired with! Your most important match is your Matchmaker – and many times with big companies, the intake caller is not your Matchmaker.
